In the past the traditional folk clothes always used to be present in the everyday life of the bulgarian.Whether it's just a normal day or it is a celebration,folk clothes were worn at all times since the moment when born untill the funeral.There were special clothes for every occasion.
Folk costumes just like folk songs and language are a cultural fenomena with its own history. All costumes and their separate accessories represent nowadays unique historical and cultural exponats.
These clothes is one of the most precious sources that lead us back to the life our grandparents had and the values they shared.With its divisions(male,female and children clothes) and with its composition as well it gives an overall idea of the role anf function the Bulgarian had in the community life on various occasions - work environment,religious festivals or celebrations.
