About Me

I am Gaduwa Echota Tsalagi (Eastern Band Cherokee)and Osahi (Osage) living in the foothills of the Smokey Mountains in Northern Alabama. I am a traditional Native American that still follows our old ways as much as we can in today's world. My family members are all traditional dancers and our family drum the "Cherokee Road Singers" is asked to drum at many Pow-wows in the area. I also lecture, internationally, on our people and cultures.

Cardiopulmonary Therapist and Native American lecturer.

Traditional and contemporary Native American music, classical and ethnic music of other Native cultures.

Favorite Shows & Movies

Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee, Smoke Signals, Dream Keeper, The New World, Dances With Wolves,Epocolipto, Last of the Mohicans, Squanto, Big Eden, Stargate Atlantis, Star Trek, Ghost Hunters, John Edwards the medium, comedies and the movies from the 30's and 40's.

Favorite Books

I hate to read. I am too active to sit down and do that, but I would recommend Chronicles of the American Indian, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, Creek Mary's Blood, Black Elk Speaks, To Touch The Earth, Great Native American Orators and Whos the Savage.

Interests

Horses, Native music, Pow-wows, talkingwith people from other tribes and comparing customs and traditions, Native movies, Sci-fi movies, listening to the elder's and their stories and meeting people from all over the world. I love to learn about their cultures and languages as well.
