Your yard should be seen as an extension of the inside of your home. If you neglect your yard, people will also have the impression that you neglect your home as well even if you don’t. With a few small additions, your yard is going to wow your neighbours!
Decorative Rock
Many people like to place mulch around their plants and trees and this is totally fine. However, mulch needs to be replaced every couple of years and is often a breeding ground for bugs. Decorative rock can be laid down once and then it is virtually no maintenance after that. Plus, it looks nice!
Solar Lights
Light up your walkway with a few solar lights. It won’t cost you much at all and it will make your yard look nicer at night when it is all lit up.
A Storage Box
It is a very good idea to keep a storage box outside and against your house as just a way to keep the odds and ends that you need when doing yard work. In fact, look for the best storage box that holds up to all types of weather and is strong enough that it can even be used as a bench. Instead of placing everything inside the garage at all times, a storage box will take care of most of your yard needs.
Pine Trees
If you are looking for a bit of privacy and do not really want to experience the hassle of putting up a fence, planting a few pine trees in your yard may do just the trick. You can line the perimeter of your yard with some baby pine trees and they will take care of themselves. Pine trees are virtually maintenance-free and will require no extra work. You will not have to rake up any leaves and they grow rather quick. You will have the privacy you want in no time!
Movable Fire Pit
Rather than building yourself a fire pit in one location of your yard that you will be stuck with, find a movable metal fire pit that you can place wherever you want. This way, when guests are over, you can pull out the fire pit and have a nice night outside at any place in your yard. Then when you are finished with it, just tuck it out of the way and forget about it until the next time you need it.
