Going out to a fancy cafe for a drink is all fun and games until you’re given the bill at the end. While it’s great to treat yourself every now and then, there are plenty of other ways to satisfy a health kick without breaking the bank. Within this guide, we will take you through some of our favourite healthy drink recipes – all as to which can be made in the comfort of your own home!
1. Turmeric Latte
Turmeric is an ancient spice that has long been used in a variety of foods. What a lot of people don’t realise, however, is that it also works well in a variety of different hot drinks, too! This is where “Golden Milk” came from, and since its success, turmeric lattes have also taken the world by storm.
First off – let’s explain why a turmeric latte is a healthy drink. Turmeric has been found to support healthy digestion, which is why it’s also common to see turmeric tablets available to buy. Without further ado, let’s look at how to make a turmeric latte!
- 350ml milk
- ¼ tsp ground turmeric
- ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground ginger
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- Dash of blank pepper
Put all of the above ingredients into a plan and whisk gently over a medium heat. Continue to whisk until the mixture is reasonably frothy and then pour into your favourite cup!
2. Avocado Smoothie
If green smoothies help to put a spring back in your step, you’re going to absolutely love this avocado smoothie. Featuring a whole range of healthy fruits and vegetables, this smoothie will start your day the right way.
- ½ chopped avocado
- Pineapple chunks
- Small piece of cucumber
- 300ml coconut water
Put all of the ingredients (apart from the coconut water) into a blender. Once reasonably smooth, pour in the coconut water and continue to blend until there are no lumps.
3. Grapefruit Green Tea
Everyone always raves about how great green tea is for you, but for a lot of us, the taste isn’t very appealing. Whether you’re bored of standard green tea or never liked how it tasted in the first place, you might change your mind with grapefruit green tea.
- 2 tsp green tea
- ¼ sliced grapefruit
Brew your tea leaves as you normally would, acquiring them to your taste. While brewing them, add grapefruit and rosemary to your teapot. You should ensure that the water in the teapot has been steeped beforehand. You can then strain the green tea into the teapot, ensuring that the leaves do not enter. Let the grapefruit and rosemary infuse for as long as need be before adding a dash of honey.
Enjoy Your Healthy Drinks!
Whether making them first thing in the morning or having a mid-afternoon treat, the three healthy drinks mentioned in this guide will be sure to make you feel good about yourself. Enjoy!
