In this fast-paced world, Fast Food is a part of our daily diet. We don’t exercise and we don’t sleep properly. You may not see the results of doing these things because you are young and it doesn’t bother you much.
But these unhealthy habits don’t help us in the long run. You will age early, have wrinkles, you might lose the ability to walk and run in the old age. Nobody wants that.
So, while you are young and, in your twenties, and your thirties you should adopt healthy habits. If you want a better future. Everything depends on your health.
If you are not healthy you won’t be able to work. Therefore, health is wealth. But you may ask what I should do in my twenties and thirties to stay healthy in my fifties. Well, tell you the answer.
It is quite simple really. Just follow along and you will know it is a big step but once you get used to it, it won’t bother you.
Three Letters: SPF
Sunscreen is one of the most important things especially right now. When the sun is getting hotter and global warming is the cause of it. Sun will cause wrinkles, skin spots, skin cancer, and whatnot.
The lighter your skin tone is the more sunscreen you need. You should reapply it once during the mid-day, to get complete protection. You should at least wear SPF 30 to get protection. You should reapply it once during the midday, to get complete protection. You should at least wear SPF 30 to get protection. Sunscreen may not seem that important to you but it is very important if you don’t want to age early.
Eight Hours of Sleep Every night:
It may seem easy to pull off all-nighters for your college and work. It may seem fine to sleep five hours a day and function on caffeine, but it is not okay. You will see the effects of sleep deprivation in the long run.
Sleep deprivation is the cause of many risky diseases, it is the cause of aging, stress, and depression. Nobody wants any of these things in their life. It is best to sleep at least seven to eight hours if you want to stay fit in your sixties. Remember a healthy mind means a healthy body and lack of sleep can affect mental health.
Take Care of Your Bones:
Taking care of your bones doesn’t mean you should take an appointment to your nearest orthopedic clinic just make sure that your calcium intake is enough and you have enough vitamin D in your body. Get yourself tested for vitamin D and calcium.
Especially women because once you reach your forties if you don’t have good bones, you can get Osteoporosis. Which is not a good thing at all.
See a Gynecologist/Urologist Every Year or Two:
Cervical cancer kills three hundred thousand women every year. It is the leading cause of medical-related death among women. Get a yearly pap smear to know your situation. You should start doing this in your twenties. This form of cancer is preventable, so why risk your health.
Men should see a urologist because kidney cancer is common among men, they often ignore signs of it. A yearly checkup can also save you from testicular cancer. Swelling near that region is not a good sign. It is best to prevent this before they accelerate.
Blood Test and Physical Exam Every Year is Very Important:
Starting from your twenties you should get a full-body physical exam each year. Your blood will be tested which will reveal quite a lot of things. Physical exam every year is a great way to prevent heart diseases in the future, it can also help prevent diabetes, blood pressure, cancer, and other life-threatening diseases.
We often take these things very lightly but if you want to have a healthy life in your 50s and 60s you should consider getting a physical exam every year.
Well, you have heard this before. It is really important to stay fit. You don’t have to join the gym to stay fit. It is good if you do but not necessary. You can go running in the morning, or cycling. You can go swimming or you can buy a treadmill and just run for half an hour in the comfort of your home.
Do whatever, that suits you and set up a routine where you can work out. Work out at least four days a week for 45 minutes each day. If you don’t work out at all start with 30 minutes each day.
Like it is mentioned above, healthy mind healthy body. To stay stress-free, do what helps you release the stress. If it means meditating, going out with friends, watching a movie, having a spa day at home or going on a date with your loved one.
If the stress keeps piling up your system will shut down and you will have problems in the future. If you suffer through depression and anxiety have a regular session with a therapist. There is nothing wrong with seeking help. Take care of your mental health today for a better tomorrow.
Drinking and Smoking:
If you drink too much it is not good for your health what so ever, try to limit your alcohol intake to one glass a day. Smoking is also another very unhealthy habit that you should get rid of as soon as possible. It will age you faster than anything. There are effective ways to get rid of the habit of smoking.
All in all, take care of your physical and mental health. Adopt healthy habits in your early twenties if you are past twenties it is still okay to adopt these habits. It is really important because there are so many environmental factors that affect our health and we should learn to prioritize our health.
