My buddy Girish Kumar Navani and I absolutely adore soccer and despite the recent popularity of the MLS, there still aren’t too many fans to be found here like myself and Girish. For Girish soccer is his way of relaxing, he works within medical tech and it is a stressful role which he has as CEO of his own company. And so we like to unwind by watching some football and debating topics within the sport. Recently we got to talking about the French football team who, after lifting the World Cup in Russia over the summer, are looking at World Domination much like Spain and Italy have done in recent years. We fall on different sides of the fence on this, and here is our opinions, have a look and see who you agree with.
The Case For Them Dominating World Football
Girish Kumar Navani firmly believes that this France see can keep on improving and he believes that there is no reason as to why they couldn’t win the next European Championships and the World Cup in Qatar. The main reason behind his feelings is the youth in the France side and the experience which they have already gained. Girish Kumar Navani makes a fair point here because players like Griezmann, Kante and DEmbele are still very young, not to mention that superstar Kylian Mbappe is just 19 years old. With the youth of the squad and the fact that they already know what it takes to win a tournament, Girish Kumar Navani believes that Les Bleus are here to stay.
Why I Believe That The Won’t
Although France had a tougher route to the final than Croatia, this was not a World Cup which really ever got going. Spain and Germany had a torrid time in Russia, Brazil and Argentina weren’t at their best either, and both Netherlands and Italy weren’t there. I believe that for the next World Cup we will see a very different international landscape and the challenge fro France will be much harder. Many countries have gone back to the drawing board and are looking to bring through more youth players in order to mount a charge in Qatar. I do concede that it is very likely that France will win the European Championships, but I don’t believe that they will win back-to-back World Cups. Something else which makes me think this is the fact that the World Cup in Qatar will not be like any tournament that we have seen before. It will be played in December and it will be extremely hot. These conditions for me, indicate that there will be more factors to a World Cup win than just ability, and we may see someone win it who hasn’t in a long while.
Who do you agree with? Do you think that Girish Kumar Navani is right about the domination, or will France burn bright and burn out?
